Carleen Wray is the Executive Director of the National Association of Students Against Violence Everywhere (SAVE). SAVE is a nonprofit organization that strives to decrease the potential for violence in our schools and communities by promoting student involvement in crime prevention, conflict management, and service learning activities. She was drawn to her current position because of her desire to ensure that youth are safe in their schools and communities. Her previous work in the juvenile justice field exposed her to the fact that youth today are in need of assistance to ensure that their schools are free of crime and conducive to learning and their communities are safe.
Ms. Wray served as the Assistant Director of SAVE from 2001-2010. Prior to that she served as the Assistant Director of the Center for the Prevention of School Violence from it’s inception in 1993. As Assistant Director of the Center she was a primary point of contact for information, programs, and research about the problem of school violence and efforts directed at preventing it from occurring. Her work provided a bridge for cooperation between various agencies involved in school violence prevention.
Ms. Wray has also worked with the North Carolina Department of Correction and the North Carolina Injury Prevention Division. She has served as a Pre-trial release coordinator and has worked extensively in the juvenile justice arena.
Ms. Wray has spoken at many conferences across the country and has conducted numerous youth safety implementation workshops. She is viewed as a national expert on youth violence prevention and has been interviewed by numerous local, state, national, and international media. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Justice and Public Policy from North Carolina Wesleyan in Rocky Mount, NC and has completed masters level’s classes in Public Administration at North Carolina State University. She is a certified court mediator, and is also a national trainer for law-related education and conflict management projects. Ms. Wray was a Triangle Business Journal’s 2015 Women in Business Award recipient.
Tracy Haas is the Business Manager for the National Association of Students Against Violence Everywhere (SAVE). Ms. Haas was formally the Administrative Assistant for SAVE. Ms. Haas is responsible for maintaining and updating the SAVE website, social media, SAVE chapters registrations around the country and internationally. She also oversees all administrative/secretarial functions of SAVE’s national headquarters in Raleigh, NC. She handles accounts payable and receivable. Ms. Haas with the help of Carleen, manages to keep the office running smoothly.
Ms. Haas is the proud mom of two bright teenage boys and very excited to be part of such an important organization. Prior to her working with SAVE, Ms. Haas was a Rehab Tech at the Brian Center, she has a long history of administrative experience and office experience and was a well respected Realtor in Sandy Hook, CT for over 7 years. Medical Assistant graduate from Stone Academy in CT, and had attended Gateway-South Central College, New Haven, CT, majoring in Child Psychology. Email: THaas@nationalsave.org

Hello everyone, my name is Kadeen Armwood and I’m the new Graphic Design Intern for the National Association of Students Against Violence Everywhere (SAVE). I’m from Clinton, North Carolina but I’m currently a senior at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University majoring in Graphic Communications/Game Design in Greensboro, North Carolina. Along with Graphic Design I also love to do videography. After graduation I hope to start a career with National Geographic helping film documentaries or with photography assignments. I’d also love to direct and film my own show storm chasing around the United States to film extreme weather. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy my designs!
