To prepare for the upcoming months my SPC has conducted many meetings to prepare for our Start With Hello Spirit Week. We organized people in teams for specific days of the week that they would need to be in charge of. We went to La Jolla Country Day and met with other schools within my community on how to spread more SPC clubs to their schools and represented SPC from Steele Canyon High school. We bought supplies for activities at lunch and focused mainly on the production of how spirit week.

My SAvE Promise club is preparing for our upcoming events and graduation. We are planning a seat belt check for the elementary school in May and we will be attending the SAVE summit in April. We are also ordering cords for our seniors and starting to hold officer elections.

My SAVE Promise Club is planning for our Youth Crime Watch “Stop the Violence” Blue Ribbon Week. We have created a full week of activities, which includes wearing blue to spread awareness about Youth Crime Watch. We also plan to host a presentation where a speaker from the Miami-Dade Police Department will come and speak about the importance of Youth Crime Watch. My club is also preparing ourselves for our Trusted Adult Training. I plan to present this training to the faculty & staff of my school during a Professional Development Meeting along with some of my club members. We are also extremely excited for the SAVE Summit. It is a great opportunity for our school to express our success with Sandy Hook Promise’s Youth Violence Prevention Programs.

My SAVE Promise club is currently working on doing the trusted adult training. We have decided to speak at a staff meeting to announce it, and do it before the beginning of next year to get them started fresh. We are also working on finding ways to add more positivity to the school, and finding more chances to speak to the younger kids.

My club is preparing to hold a Sandy Hook Promise summit for the high schools and middle schools in our district along with going to Fairfield University to give a presentation on youth dialogue. We plan on doing a mock crash before prom, holding assemblies about the drinking and drugs, and organizing end of the year activities.

My Save Promise Club is focusing a lot on preparing for the national summit. While we are continuing celebrating specific days and doing our usual Toilet Talks and other services, there is lot to do to prepare for the summit. Our breakout session is about youth activism so in order to prepare our club has a scheduled visit to our local congressmen. We also are planning a mock crash before prom to raise awareness about the dangers of drinking and driving.
