For Teen Safe Driving Week and America’s Safe School Week, Hancock High School hosted a guest speaker to lead an assembly to educate students about safe driving and non-violent behavior. The school also held assembly meeting, daily safety reminders using slogans and candy handouts, promotional items and contests.

For National Youth Violence Prevention Week the school plans to host a guest speaker to discuss major issues surrounding violence in teens. They also plan to involve the students by having skits performed by the Drama Club with an emphasis placed on non-violent behaviors. In May Hancock High School will host a guest speaker from the Mississippi Highway Patrol and will promote the X the Text campaign throughout the month.

Throughout the rest of the year Hancock High School has a plan for bi-weekly assemSADD-skitblies that include topics such as bullying, youth violence prevention, drug awareness, impaired driving, texting and driving, safe/defensive driving, suicide prevention, as well as teen pregnancy and abstinence.
