I use my powers to spread the SAVE message throughout our schools social media, broadcast and through our call to action weeks we present like Start With Hello and Say Something Week. I try my best to spread positivity throughout my school and to connect with people I may not know. I use traits like being friendly, outgoing, and social to spread the message of saying something and acting in situations that my school is trained to look out for.

One of my powers is compassion and I use that to help others and try to understand where they’re coming from! I try to give others a voice and let them know I care and so do others.

As president of my club and as a youth advisory board member, I use my powers to spread awareness of our programs and message around my community. I make sure to reach out to my members and always be a positive source/outlet for my friends and members. They know they can always come to me and I always remind my members how to contact me if they need anything or have any ideas at the end if our meetings.

My power is my voice. It is the strongest tool I have because it is the one thing that others cannot take away from me. I will use my voice to advocate against gun violence and youth violence of any kind, such as bullying, suicide, and sexual violence. Being apart of SAVE has given me a platform to advocate my thoughts and beliefs without being judged or discriminated against. It has allowed me to help those students around me from harming themselves or harming others, just by using my voice. I also use my voice to inspire students around me to speak up for themselves and have their voices be heard so that they can also spread the message of SAVE. So that they can also spread the message that violence in general is preventable, in every way, shape or form. So that they can in turn inspire others to stop any type of violence before it happens. SAVE has impacted my life tremendously and I cannot ask to be apart of any other family, besides this one!

As a co-president of my SAVE Promise Club and a youth advisory board member, the majority of my powers go towards empowering others to be active SAVE Promise Club members and inspiring my club to be active within our school community. If I see members of the club who may be quiet and less involved than others, I make sure to reach out to them and see if there are ways I can help them become more involved and feel more included. By using my powers to activate a wider group of people, I am able to spread the SAVE Promise Club message to not only the individuals I connect with, but also the individuals that will talk to the people I inspire to join the club. While I wish I could do more personal interactions to spread the SAVE Promise Club message, I realize I can reach a wider group of people by helping others and teaching others how to spread the SAVE Promise Club messages themselves. Another power I use to spread the SAVE Promise Club message is my political voice. I have lobbied for the messages of the club multiple times, including in Washington, D.C. and in my North Carolina state legislature. Additionally, I make sure to write and call my senators and representatives and I use these tools in school to encourage others to use their rights and be politically active.
